Our Wilsonart Quartz Counters- Installed

I've dreamt of this kitchen for years and one element that hasn't changed is my desire for a marble-like countertop. We went with a friends recommendation and called up Top Designs Inc. of Wadsworth for our stone top. After shooting over our IKEA cabinet mockup with dimensions and layouts- we were quick to get a rough estimate.

The big controversial is whether to go marble vs. quartz. After chatting with the sales associate we were sold that quartz would be the winner for its durability and ease of care through the years. We popped into Top Design's showroom a few weeks later to check out the different options in person and decided to go with Wilsonart's "London Sky" quartz slab. Compared to the other samples, this sample seemed a bit more hazy but once held alone in natural light- I was sold. "London Sky" is marble-like quartz that has light grain marbling... so pretty!

I'll be chatting more about our IKEA cabinet fronts and shelving installation but I did make major headway on getting those finished off these last couple days! Our hammered kitchen sink is from Sinkology and our antique brass faucet/pot filler is from Kingston Brass. Both were purchased through Wayfair a few years back.

We went with the standard bullnose edge as Taylor liked that most. We did do the 4" back lip over by the kitchen sink so that our bead board backsplash has a nice lip of protection. Over by the stove- we opted to do no 4" back edge so that our tile backsplash could run to the countertop. Top Designs installed the counters in half a day and I am still so smitten. I can hardly believe all the counter top space we will soon have!

This leads us one step closer to a completed kitchen! What do you think? I think I'll be doing cartwheels on these counters, haha!

Hugs, Alyssa
